St Kilda Apartment

Purchased in July 2024 for $330,000, this original 1970s apartment in the quieter part of St Kilda was completely transformed on a renovation budget of just $10,000. What started as a very dated and closed-off space became a bright, relaxed and modern apartment with a much better flow and feel.

One of the biggest changes was relocating the kitchen from its small separate room into the living area, creating an open-plan living and dining space while also gaining an extra bedroom/study. New light laminate flooring instantly lifted the apartment, while fresh Lexicon White paint throughout created a calm and airy feel.

Small details made a big difference in this project, gold handles, pendant lighting, updated bathroom fixtures and beautiful palm tree towel hooks gave the apartment a relaxed St Kilda character without overcomplicating the design. The apartment was then fully furnished and styled, bringing the whole vision together beautifully.

The property was sold privately in October 2025 for $440,000. Selling it independently through PropertyNow made the experience even more rewarding and saved approximately $15,000 in agent fees. This project proved how much can be achieved with creativity, careful budgeting and a strong vision.
